The philosophy behind Sainik School
The idea of Sainik School was coined by Late VK Krishna Menon who served as Indian Defense Minister in the 1960s. The key objective to set this institution was to offer the best services to dynamic minds of young boys from backward rural areas of India. Also, the main goal was to nurture the young generation by offering the best class infrastructural services. Another goal was to provide an induction into Indian Armed Forces as Commissioned Officers.
The aspirants are developed in three areas such as mental, physical, and Intellectual. The procedure is formulated to develop independent and responsible citizens. The school with the government provides a perfect platform for developing physical strength. Moreover, it also providesan opportunity for shaping social attitudes for a better Indian.
There are around 33 Sainik schools in India. The schools are available in many states. The Government has also given a proposal to set 4 or more institutions. Every school has a fixed number of seats that are filled from the Sainik School entrance exam. The seats are reserved for defense dependents with domicile reservation, SC, and ST. Also, schools have certain seats reserved for students of another state.
Admission criteria: Admission is open for class 6th and 9th class. The students must follow age criteria for seeking admission.
